Because you’ve dealt with the stressor, but not the stress, your bodies still think you’re being chased by the lion.

As a Certified EMDR Therapist, I work both weekly with clients and also offer short term EMDR support more intensively, which can be 2-3 hours at a time, all remotely over telehealth.

For weekly sessions, I work in an 80 minute format. For EMDR intensives, we would schedule longer sessions over the span of a week or a month.

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.  This type of therapy is an evidence-based practice, used in the treatment of many issues, including: post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), somatic symptoms, anxiety, panic attacks, disturbing memories, complex grief, guilt and shame, depression, phobias, and more.  It has also been demonstrated to have successful outcomes in peak performance enhancement.

If you have a negative belief about yourself that was created and confirmed by a past experience(s), EMDR may help to process through those old memories and redefine a new and more positive belief.

Feel free to explore the videos and links below for more information on EMDR.

Not only does healing occur much more rapidly than in traditional therapy, but as a result of EMDR’s clearing of emotional and physical blockages, many people also experience a sense of joy, openness, and deep connection with others. EMDR is a quantum leap in the human ability to heal trauma and maladaptive beliefs.
