EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.  This type of therapy is an evidence-based practice, and therefore is scientifically verified to be effective in the treatment of many issues, including: Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), somatic symptoms, anxiety, panic attacks, disturbing memories, complex grief, depression, phobias, and more.  It has also been demonstrated to have successful outcomes in peak performance enhancement.

Simply put, if you have a negative belief about yourself that was created and confirmed by a past experience(s), EMDR can help to process through those old memories and redefine a new and more positive belief.
